Forum Finder

Forum Finder is a bot to save you, and your customers/users time!

What is Forum Finder?

  1. Forum Finder is a Discord Bot that allows you and server members time, allowing you to create pre-built help support threads, and then it can automatically see a message, respond to it.

  2. Forum Finder can automatically refer a customer, or support, to a forum with just a simple shortcut command, Or even automatically with words contained as "I need help with ____ " Forum Finder will help you find that thread and automatically send it, with a custom embed to customize it to however you would like.

  3. It also offers features, such as if you think a google can answer a question, Just say /google ___ and it will automatically make a link to the google search of your choosing.

  4. This bot is designed for users to save time repeating the same question/answer again, and again.

  5. Need help? Have a Question? Send us a message here and we can help you! You can always refer to /docs if you need any help with config.

First Time Setup

  1. First off, Thank you for installing Forum Finder. this will guide you through how to setup forum finder for the first time.

  2. Lets start off with adding your main Community Forum, and Admin role (who can configure the bot). use /'set_admin_role' and then the @ of the role who can configure the bot. Now, If you don't have a community type server enabled, Forum Finder will not work. We will use /set_main_forum_channel (channeliD) follow the video below. PS: If you do not see "Copy Channel ID" Check if you have developer mode on in discord. If you have it on and still don't see it, please contact us with the link above.

  1. Now that your forum is set, lets set our trigger phrases. I am going to use (separated by commas) '/set_trigger_phrase' with the phrases: "help, need help, find, help with" . You should see "Trigger phrases updated to:" with the phrase you selected.

  2. You can now test finding a forum. try (your trigger phrase) and then the name of a thread in your forum, or /forum and your query. You should see the threads that are similar and a bottom text. I have set mine to support member help.

Showing the bottom text.
  1. *continued* You can set this with '/bottomtextforfound' and your message, This will update the embed.

  2. Now, lets say your customer didn't understand that, and still needs help. Your customer can say similar to the bottom text, "I still need help" and this is what will happen:

  1. *continued* to configure what happens, you can use '/set_still_need_help' and follow the prompts in the slash command on how to configure it.

  2. Lets say you have a title that does not mentions a search topic, but you need more refined help in your server. You can use '/toggle_search_descriptions' so anything that mentions the word you or users sent will show up. this may bloat/lag the chat so I would recommend against it unless needed.
